Summer Slow Jams 2: Comics Jam Opening & Games Narrative Workshop!

  • Epicodus 400 Southwest 6th Avenue #800 Portland, OR, 97204 United States (map)

Make a game project with friends and community members in just over a week! Summer Slow Jams is a collection of game jam events happening once a month this summer, providing structure and networking opportunities for creatives in Portland.

For the opening of this NARRATIVE OR COMIC-INSPIRED GAME jam, we will be welcoming Ed Kuehnel (writer & consultant for Telltale Games and Valiant Hearts) as he provides a narrative-in-games workshop to get you started! Be prepared to generate ideas, organize narrative thoughts, and write the beginnings of game stories as he and others lead us with professional games writing guidance. Attendees are not required to participate in the jam.

Start making a game on July 8th and finish up to share by July 17th. Join in the jam online via to upload and share your game!

This event is open to – and provides great opportunity for – all those who wish to participate, including total beginners, industry veterans, and anything in between. We are dedicated to providing safe spaces for creatives, and this event will operate in an inclusive, discrimination-free environment with no tolerance for abuse or harassment per our Code of Conduct. This event is free, and participation is welcome from the public.
